It's a grey day today but in a nice way? I'm listening to Bill Evans (Peace Piece). I'm in an upbeat mood but in a calm or chill way so it's a good match. Cards were a bit slow to come out today, took a lot of shuffling. Then I realized I was holding the deck upside down once a set of three finally fell out. I tend to keep my deck upright and don't both with reversals and instead try to keep in mind the variety of ways a particular card's energy might manifest. Of course, this is something I'm fine-tuning as I go.

Today is a good example -- my first card was Ace of Wands. New energy being offered to me; this can offer a boost or a surge, it can be a seed or a spark, it can also burn if it runs too hot. The other two jumpers were Justice and the Hierophant, cards that I usually have a hard time clicking with or integrating with other cards. That was the case today, so I asked ChatGPT for a little assist in thinking about how I might view them as part of this daily draw. I guess my hesitation with them is that they seem like big energy, somewhat stern or rigid, and in a way I feel judged by them rather than seeing them as energy that is available to me or influencing me in some way. So I balk a little at them and maybe feel a little scared or intimidated.

Anyway, after discussing with Chat, I am reorienting them to see them as nudges or reminders about how to best use the energy of the Ace. So for Justice, this might mean being thoughtful about cause and effect, keeping an eye out for how my actions might ripple out. Or keeping my energy/attention balanced and cutting off that which seeks to pull me out of alignment. For the Hierophant, this might be keeping in mind how structure and convention can be helpful in channeling energy into usable form, the channel between the abstract and the concrete.

Eight of Swords as the base; this was pretty straightforward for me in that I have been feeling a bit tied up internally by anxiety and some decision I have needed to make/will need to keep making. But today I do feel free of this weight, so this card as the base, or something receding, made sense to me.

The crown of the deck was the Fool, which has been a recurring card for me across decks the past few weeks. A positive to keep going into new territory and to act freely without too much overthinking.

So overall, a good reading that will be useful for me today. Mostly just cleaning the house, working on a freelance project, working on a personal creative project as well.

I will keep developing my understanding of Justice and the Hierophant; I think it's helpful to note the cards you struggle with as the struggle might signify an important message or energy that needs to be integrated.

ps: I saw a Monarch while I was out on a walk this afternoon! Not in my yard but still counts.
