9/22
Took a few days off, back at it. Trying it out as a tarot blog now, which does fit the title.
Today is the fall equinox. The sun is just about to move into Libra from Virgo. The moon is new, also in Libra. Venus has recently entered Virgo. Mercury is in Libra until Oct. 9. So heavy on the details and the balance of it all. This is all 2nd/3rd and 8th/9th stuff for me (rising/sun) with a bit of 4th/10th drawn in by my moon.
Today's draw using RWS. As I was shuffling, I was thinking about which goals are the most important to me right now, which are worth fighting for (Mars is moving into Scorpio today as well, so this was Chani's suggestion). These are the cards that came out (not sure the order but this is good enough):
High Priestess, Ace of Swords, Six of Pentacles, Knight of Wands Devil on the base, Queen of Cups as the open potential.
High Priestess: This card is the gateway between intuition (felt/sensed) and logic (analyzed/evaluated). The richness and beauty behind the pillars of what is externally or consciously known. The cues: 1) Follow your intuition around goals (i.e., your ability to integrate the two is available; use it). 2) Moving fluidly between the intuitive and the logical is the goal (i.e., embodying the energy more effortlessly). 3) Thinking/communicating around intuition, what it is, how it can be developed, the bridge between logic/consciousness and intuition/subconsciousness, how it influences creativity.
Ace of Swords: Fresh ideas, fresh mental energy, intellectual independence. A beginning. New thoughts to share, new ways to approach communication as well. The main cues that I am feeling here are (1) a nudge break away from conventional approaches to writing, content creation, social media, etc. which is typically structured in very conventional ways to improve "reach" but dilutes what is possible and (2) a nudge to be bold, to take up the sword that is being offered and use it (this cue is not so much about taking new approaches as embodying the energy of the beginning, with the love of an amateur vs. conventional wisdom).
Six of Pentacles: The card of material balance, of give and take, of understanding sometimes you are in the position of power and sometimes you are in the position of need. Cues for goal setting: 1) sharing knowledge/ideas generously but also staying balanced (don't give everything away for free); 2) understanding that success can fuel generosity and also that asking for help can be part of the process; 3) balancing my own internal systems/resources when working on goals
Knight of Wands: The card of creative energy, charging forth, impulsivity. A card that encourages action without overthinking. A card of action driven by passion. A card that can represent that last burst of energy needed for completion of a cycle. A card of momentum? This I am not as sure about. Does the knight represent sustained energy or the spark to get going? Cues for goal setting: 1) embracing the energy of the Knight to get started or keep going; 2) thinking/communicating about inertia, momentum, getting started, etc. especially as they relate to creativity.
The Devil (base of the deck): Throw off your own chains. For me, this means wriggling free of my well-worn mental traps, especially around goals, aligning my efforts, making progress, sticking with them. My mild-to-moderate inattentive ADHD has been particularly problematic over the past several years, largely due to external stresses. However, the time has come for me to release myself from the traps I fall into, or at least learn to manage them better to minimize them. I know it is possible.
Wisdom from Claude in discussing my interpretation of the cards against my current backdrop of struggle around following through on creative goals: Instead of "Do I know enough to create something valuable?" the question becomes "How can I most effectively share what I've already learned while continuing to learn alongside my users?" Instead of "Is this idea good enough?" it becomes "Who would benefit from trying these practices, and how can I support them in implementing them successfully?"
So, having said all that, what are the goals that are most important to me right now? How do I move from these cues to something more concrete?
Keywords to consider: intuition; decisiveness; balance; forward movement.
So I guess I am circling back to the momentum project, and better understanding exactly what it might be. I have spent time this morning going back and forth with Claude about it, and myself about it. I have some tentative structures in place, and tentative ideas that need testing. So perhaps my goal is setting a strategy for further developing those structures (beehiiv, workbook) and testing the tentative ideas in a way that feels safe and sustainable for me.
I don't have to answer everything today. Just have to stay on the horse.
