Yesterday I had dental surgery early in the day and didn't end up drawing any cards. Broke my streak and now I have a mouthful of stitches and a fear of eating. One procedure down, three more to go. I'd tell you to floss regularly but also add, don't clench your teeth because that can undercut your flossing efforts. However, as far as shitty life events go, it's not that bad.
So on to today's cards. Five of Swords and Two of Wands came out practically glued together, followed by the Hermit. Echoing the draw on the K situation a couple of days ago. If nothing else, this has given me much more insight into the Two of Wands and its range of interpretations. I will go into it more at some point. The Hermit still shines its light on this situation, trying to understand. But does it matter if the situation is understood? Can it even be, on an intellectual level? I'm not sure.
Another way of looking at it (the remaining cards that fell out): The Star and her wishful thinking got rocked by the Tower. Do the Four of Wands and the Six of Pentacles follow? Or were they the wishful thinking? There was an innocent love embedded in the relationship but never any happy home or true foundation (or expectation of that). But maybe they served both functions: the wishful thinking and the ideal that keeps me moving forward. Only time will tell.
The Nine of Wands at the base; oh, the vigilance and weariness.
Strength at the crown. It has been ages and ages since I have seen Strength on a regular basis and it has been popping out all over the place. So thank you.
Thanks to the Black Power Tarot, I associated the Strength card with Tina Turner, btw. There were a few cards in that deck that I didn't agree with but overall it's an important edition, deep as heck. On my list to write about it more because it did really influence my understanding of tarot or at least a few of the cards. One of its creators has recently succumbed to bipolar mania like full bore style, crashing out in real time on social media. He's a powerful musician and creative so it's sad to see as the crash has sapped his work of any depth or meaning.
