This morning's daily draw: The Moon, with Page of Pentacles at the base and Knight of Wands at the crown.
In a bit of a confused place about resources, namely which path to take to keep growing them. But it doesn't feel like a scary confusion, just uncertainty, with the moon/intuition lighting the path. I'll note that Jupiter (planet of expansion) is currently in Cancer (ruled by the Moon) and my natal Moon is in Cancer in the 12th house (the mooniest moon placement). I'll also note that the full moon is in two days, so maybe the card is also alluding to timing, like I can start to turn my attention more to these matters on Monday. The knight of wands is on deck, waiting to lend energy. I have a business idea I've been mulling for quite some time (years) and maybe I'll take a run at it over the next three months. It's themed consumer apparel, perfect for POD, so diving in to get traction now prior to xmas would be helpful. Could be a fun experiment, just something to approach playfully and with the goal of developing some knowledge about how these kinds of businesses work and maybe making a little cash. A foray, if you will.
So yesterday I also pulled cards for my plan to move to Portugal next year. This spread used Jodo's TdM, with positions for challenge/strength/advice and dealing until I hit a major at each position. I used Claude to suggest several spreads & chose this one as resonating the most. The less said about Claude's attempts to interpret it, the better. I will have more to say about LLMs and tarot in later writing, btw. On to the spread:
Challenge: Ace of Cups, Five of Cups, Page of Cups, Three of Swords, Temperance Strength: Ten of Cups, Knight of Cups, Strength Advice: Queen of Wands, Three of Wands, Four of Wands, Six of Pentacles, Page of Wands, Queen of Cups, Magician
Plus the Fool as the base and Nine of Swords as the crown.
So, the challenge: the process of moving from one to the other, the transformation or alchemy involved in moving to a new country -- the process itself is the challenge. Remaining calm and balanced while I manage the transmutation of my life is the message from Temperance. The pips indicate there is a lot of emotion present in this process and that it will call for emotional openness and willingness to connect with people. At the same time, there is a warning to move past surface level emotions and/or not become overly focused on the emotional aspects of the process or to proceed with a lack of trust in life. Breakthroughs/victory will follow decisive action, so an implied signal not to shy away from making moves during this process.
Strength: Well, Strength is my strength, haha. Support from the Ten of Cups implying emotional leadership or maturity, a heart that has reached fullness. The Knight of Cups signals emotional openness and sharing, an acceptance of the life-force of love (while still suggesting room for emotional growth or stability). Strength of course representing feminine courage, creative power, mastery of innate impulses (in a way that is gentle and natural), the start of a new cycle, the willingness to take a risk. And on a mundane level, a woman with a lion feels a bit like an echo me planning my travels with my own cat.
Advice: Magician. Action using the resources available to you. They are enough. Supported by wands, wands, wands. Feminine confidence and intuition signaled by the Queen (as well as a more personal meaning of making moves in silence). Moving forward (Three of Wands) while also recognizing that the effects of the change will come in time (Four of Wands -- the literal move will come later). The patience to wait for the right moment and not get overwhelmed by the tasks at hand (Page of Wands). The abundance of resources needed for the move are available (Six of Pentacles) and emotional control is possible (Queen of Cups). Perhaps the Queens indicate the need to keep move preparations under cover, at least for the time being? The Magician offers the means to create a new reality with support from these energies. The possibility to will a new reality into being.
The Fool at the base signals freedom, new options, spontaneity, embracing the uncertainty of the situation (it also warns of restlessness and difficulty committing to a direction). Nine of Swords at the crown indicates success in breaking through barriers or defenses, success even with imperfect means.
Note: I have several days of unpublished drafts from draws this week. Will keep working on those over the weekend to clear them out and get them up (in order to keep my commitment to myself to stay with this blog, at least for through the month of October, as an experiment in daily writing and publishing in a relatively low stakes way).
